About

llama/lama is the mind-melting, genre-bending, tongue-in-cheek collaboration of composers Quinn Collins and Paul Schuette.  According to NYU Assistant Professor Leila Adu, “llama/lama is the Beavis and Butthead of noise music.”  Drawing sonic material from turntables, modular synthesizers, real (and false) radios, handmade mbiras, shopping malls, digital ephemera, and custom-built audio hardware, llama/lama plays prime numbers with prime numbers.  They make high brow, low-fi noise music for all occasions, sharing bills with jug bands, puppet shows, math rock quartets, and new music ensembles in varied settings including public parks, basements, bars, art galleries, and contemporary music festivals.
